Redacting a PDF
Mark areas on rendered pages; the export is a new image-only PDF.

Redaction needs a free account because you mark areas on rendered pages of your own file. Open the Redact PDF tool, upload a PDF (up to 50 pages), and we render every page on our servers first. Nothing is removed at that stage.
Drag on a page to mark an area, or use “Add a region by numbers” to enter a rectangle with the keyboard. Marked areas are listed on the right; click a mark or the trash icon to remove it.
Export produces a new PDF that contains only page images with your marked areas burned in black. The original file’s text layer, links, form fields, bookmarks, attachments, and metadata are not copied into the export, so the marked content cannot be recovered from it. The export is not lossless: text is no longer selectable and the file can be larger.
The tool removes exactly what you mark. It does not search for names, numbers, or other sensitive content. Review every page before sharing.
Your uploaded original stays temporary and expires after 24 hours unless you save it separately. Saving the redacted result never saves the original.
